"DISC" Assessment Explains Who You are ...

The leadership management diagnostic  had categorized me as type "D" , which is  discribed as dominante type oriented person. I was not satisfied with such  particular description alone  because I don't see myself  assimilate with  it percisely. But when I saw the description of "D" type in more details, it became visible to me how this assessment came to be amazing result.  for instance I do not like to be controlled  and I 'm strong in fulfilling my job obligation no matter what. I do remember when I was a restaurant's manger how many hours I used to put in, because  I want  my work to be complet and perfect as well, so I chose to be the first one to come in( at 10:am) and the last one to leave( around 2:00am). However, I also had a great conflict with my boss's wife who have no idea about a restaurant- business  and I refused to follow her instructions. I have to say that  she used to see me as "a dominant person" because I never consulted with her in some matters. For me,  her ideas  were good  in her classroom as a teacher not in restaurant . In any case, it was a lot of fun in working with  two bosses, one is a teacher and other one was a car dealer, so one can imagine  that "D" type  personality is appropriate . I don't see myself  to prefer other type  than what I am, but I am flexible to adopt or to even change  to other type according to what the environment  calls for .
There were some questions in this test that were kind of confusing to  how one can categorize himself (like Q 7 and  15);However, I did take same test again, but I let some else to doing for me , someone who knows me  very well for long time , and astonishingly  the result turned to be "DS" vs "DC" in first time.  I am convinced that this test is an accurate assessment  to determine people's management  "type".  But to what extend this can be used  by others in the work place may have a positive impact and  negative impact as well. It is an encouraging for one to know him/her-self so  he/she can do better  in their work. I believe that communication is one of the issues one can think about when selecting a team members.   On one hand  people with same "type" can form a typical team that work in harmony and in fast pace, on the other hand  this team can lack  ideas from other different types and reach thier fullest potential. Therefore , the work environment should not duplicate people's "type" in order to have a diverse work place which may bring different ideas and many skilled employees that will enrich the work environment .
Again management is life learning ...

  1. I liked the video you posted, and I think the test did accurately assess you. Having the chance to work with you in our group projects, I think you are definitely a "D" type because you are usually the first one to try to make things happen, try to solve the problem, come up with ideas right away, and you don't hold back when you have an idea. Also, being a restaurant's manager, I think it probably was really helpful for you to be a "D" type because you had to be on your feet and ready for any new challenge or problem that was coming your way. I, personally, think that having those qualities of a "D" type will help you conquer anything you want to do in life.

  2. Hello,
I agree with Alexandra that you fit the Dominant-personality type because when working with you in a group, you are naturally the leader (or one of them). You make sure your ideas are heard and seem to be confident in what you say. That's why we listened and followed through with your egg design in the end. :)
